Fancy Colored Diamonds

Jewelry manufacturers use almost exclusively white diamonds. This is because natural color diamonds are extremely rare making them very expensive. Fancy colored diamonds are man made, making them more affordable.

Diamonds are composed of pure carbon crystallized for millions of years at extremely high temperatures and under extreme pressure. Nitrogen atoms that are trapped in diamonds during their formation cause changes in the crystal structure. These changes are responsible for imparting color by changing the stone's light absorption properties.

Scientists and gemologists in their search for ways of introducing color into colorless diamonds have explored the physical factors that determine color in fancy color diamonds.

Scientific ways have been discovered to introduce the changes required in the diamond for it to convert into different shades of colors. This produces uniform non fading colors, highly stable against aging. Only diamonds of impeccable quality are suitable for producing fancy colored diamonds that are highly transparent.

To ensure perfect quality, diamonds undergo spectroscope sorting an electric conductivity and fluorescence test before being accepted for treatment. Simulated fading and UV tests show that there are no changes in the diamond, while color and other properties are identical to those of natural diamonds.
For this reason we are able to guarantee that our treated colored diamonds will remain color stable for thousands of years.
